Popular Nigerian pastor opens up on battle with cancer, undergoes surgery, donates £100,000

Tobi Adegboyega, the well-known Nigerian pastor and founder of the Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church (SPAC Nation), which has since been renamed The Nxtion Family, has publicly disclosed his ongoing battle with cancer.

The charismatic preacher, recognized for his vibrant personality and focus on youth ministry, shared the news during a pre-recorded sermon broadcast to his followers on Thursday.

He said, “I was diagnosed with cancer. Yes, you heard me right. I’ve been dealing with cancer for the past few months or even more. I just had a major surgery, that’s why I am not there today.

“I have just fought the battle and I feel the verdict to continue to live was given to me by God for a new level, for a new stage,” the pastor said.

In addition to his health update, Adegboyega revealed a donation of £100,000 aimed at promoting cancer awareness and supporting treatment efforts, especially among young people.

Known for his distinctive style and outreach to troubled youth, Adegboyega has been both praised and criticized for his extravagant lifestyle, frequently showcasing designer clothing, luxury vehicles, and connections with celebrities.

In 2022, his church, SPAC Nation, faced intense investigation in the UK and was ultimately shut down by British authorities due to financial misconduct.

A UK High Court inquiry found that the organisation failed to provide proper accounts for more than £1.87 million in expenditures, resulting in its closure.
