 Sallah NACHPN rejoices with Muslims seeks improved primary healthcare system

The President of National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria, NACHPN, Comrade Kabir Yahaya Ahmed, has felicitated with Muslims and members of the Association on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

In his Sallah message in Abuja, Comrade Ahmed admonished Muslims to use the occasion in praying for the unity, peace and development of Nigeria.

He also stressed the need for them to use the period in rededicating their lives to the service of God and humanity.

According to him, this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration calls for sober reflection in view of the current situation in the country.

The President of NACHPN also used the occasion to call for the overhaul of the nation’s Primary Healthcare System towards enhancing the wellbeing of Nigerians nationwide.

He equally emphasized the need for more recruitment of community health practitioners towards meeting the shortfall in workforce in primary healthcare centres in the country.

While expressing concern over the welfare of Community Health Practitioners especially those posted to rural areas, Comrade Yahaya Ahmed called for more measures that would improve their renumeration and welfare towards boosting their productivity and enhance effective healthcare delivery.

He advocated upgrade of Primary Healthcare Crntres through provision of basic amenities most especially electricity, consumables, water supply among other facilities needed for primary healthcare delivery.

While identifying healthcare delivery as key to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs 4, the National President of NACHPN enjoined Government at all levels to increase budgetary allocation to the health sector towards combating child and maternal mortality in the country.

He stated that the Association would continue to compliment the efforts of Government towards repositioning the nation’s primary healthcare sector.
