Fake AK-47 found in residence of suspect linked to Kano DPO’s killing

The Kano State Police Command has recovered a replica AK-47 rifle at the residence of a suspect connected to the killing of Divisional Police Officer (DPO) CSP Baba Ali of Rano Local Government Area.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Haruna Kiyawa, revealed the development in a statement posted on his official Facebook page.
“During the search of the house of one of the suspects arrested in connection with the alleged murder of the DPO of Rano, a fake AK-47 rifle was found in his possession,” Kiyawa wrote.
CSP Ali sustained fatal injuries during violent unrest that broke out following the custodial death of a local youth. He later died while undergoing treatment at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
In response to the incident, the police launched a sweeping investigation that has led to the arrest of 41 individuals alleged to have been involved in the attack that claimed the officer’s life.
