Police arrest woman for allegedly stealing 2-month-old baby in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 49-year-old woman, Joy Temitope, for allegedly abducting a two-month-old baby in Koko, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The shocking incident was confirmed in a statement released on Monday by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe. According to the statement, Temitope reportedly lured a 20-year-old mother into a false sense of trust before allegedly drugging her and fleeing with her infant son.
Edafe revealed that the suspect’s arrest was the result of intelligence-driven police work. After receiving a report of the incident, officers launched a swift investigation that led to the suspect’s location and eventual arrest.
The statement read, “The suspect, Mrs Joy Temitope, aged 49 yers lured and deceived a 20-year-old girl who had a two-month-old baby. She drugged the girl and stole her baby somewhere in Koko, Delta State.
“Acting on intelligence-driven policing, the suspect was arrested three months later and the baby boy who is now five months old rescued and reunited with his mother.”
