Peter Obi donates N20m to flood victims in Niger

Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, has extended his condolences to the people of Niger State following the recent flood disaster in Mokwa, which claimed several lives and displaced many residents.
Obi visited the Niger State Government House on a condolence mission, where he was warmly received by Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba, standing in for Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.
During the visit, Mr. Obi donated ₦20 million in support of relief efforts and expressed heartfelt sympathy with families affected by the tragedy. He also offered prayers for the victims and called for unity in times of crisis.
Commending the state government’s response, Obi emphasized the urgent need for proactive disaster management strategies to prevent future tragedies and reduce the devastating impact of natural disasters across the country.
“The loss of lives and livelihoods in Mokwa is deeply saddening. While we support the victims now, we must also take steps to prevent such disasters in the future,” he said.
