Baptist cleric tasks Christian youths on faith, discipline as FBC Gwagwalada marks Annual Youth Week

The Minister in charge of First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja, Reverend Deji Oyelami has admonished Christian youths to always combine faith with action in all their endeavours to ensure breakthrough in life.
In a sermon entitled “Break Forth”; to mark this year’s Annual Youth Week of the Church in Gwagwalada Abuja, Reverend Deji Oyelami also urged them to always trust in God’s guidance and provision.
Taking his text from the book of Deuteronomy chapter 1 verse 7, the Baptist Cleric stressed the need for them to submit to God’s discipline and endurance to enable them overcome the current challenges in the country.
“The theme of Youth Week this year”Break Forth “, is very crucial and very important and the text for this year’s celebration which is Deuteronomy chapter 1 verse 7 herefore the youth can break forth by combining faith with action and taking steps towards their goals and trusting in God’s guidance and provision and these will yeild county effects of break forth ” He said
While expressing concern over the attitude of some youths in the society, Reverend Deji Oyelami enjoined them to always contribute their quota to national development.
“My message for youths in Baptist family this year as they’re celebrating another youth week this year is for them to always bear their yoke in their youth days hence the need for them to submit to always submit to God’s discipline and learn valuable lessons of endurance and submission right from their young age ” the Baptist Cleric emphasized.
Reverend Deji Oyelami used the opportunity to appeal to Government at all levels to put in place policies and programmes that would reduce the rate of crimes and unemployment among youths in the country.
On his part, the youth President of the Church, Bro. Segun Ogundipe also enjoined the youth to be committed to the service of God and humanity.
Bro. Segun Ogundipe who described Youth Week as vital in the Nigeria Baptist Convention, NBC, said the essence of the celebration was to keep the youth abreast with the injunction of the denomination towards ensuring a better and fruitful future leaders in the Church.
He therefore enjoined youths in Baptist family to continue to be good ambassadors and shun acts detrimental to God’s kingdom.
Highpoints of the Youth Week celebration were songs of praise and thanksgiving as well as prayers for Nigerian youths.
