UniAbuja’s lecturer dies after brief illness

 University of Abuja (UniAbuja ) has been thrown into mourning following the death of Dr Abdulmaleek Nuhu Ningi, a lecturer in the Department of Linguistics, who passed away Friday night after a brief illness.

Although the university management has yet to release an official statement, confirmation of his death was posted on the institution’s verified Facebook page on Saturday.

“We mourn the passing of Dr Abdulmaleek Nuhu Ningi of the Department of Linguistics, who died last night after a brief illness,” the statement read.

“Dr Ningi was a dedicated academic and a compassionate member of our university community. He gave himself selflessly to the service of others and will be deeply missed.

“Our heartfelt condolences go to his family, friends, colleagues, and indeed the entire university community. May Almighty Allah grant him eternal rest and give us all the fortitude to bear this loss,” it reads.

Dr Ningi was widely respected for his commitment to teaching and scholarship. His passing is a significant loss to the academic community.
