CAF award winner, Lookman, presents trophy to Tinubu

Super Eagles star, Ademola Lookman, formally presented his CAF Player of the Year trophy to President Bola Tinubu during the president’s official two-day working visit to Lagos.
The presentation took place at the Lagos State Government House on Friday, where Lookman was welcomed by both President Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The 27-year-old winger, who plays for Italian club Atalanta, received the prestigious honour in December during the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards held in Marrakech, Morocco. He became the second Nigerian in a row to win the award, following Victor Osimhen’s victory in 2023.
Lookman’s recognition came on the heels of a stellar campaign at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, where he netted three goals and registered an assist across seven matches for the Super Eagles.
He further cemented his status with a memorable performance in the UEFA Europa League, scoring a hat-trick in the final that led Atalanta to a decisive victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
