Nigerian Army announces new date for recruitment exercise

The Nigerian Army has announced a change in the schedule for its upcoming recruitment exercise, shifting the dates forward by nearly a week.
In a statement posted on its verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, the Army revealed that the 89 Regular Recruit Intake (89RRI) recruitment exercise, originally slated to hold from June 8 to 21, 2025, will now be conducted from June 2 to 16, 2025.
The Army’s notice clarified that the adjustment overrides the previously published timeline. It called on all candidates, as well as members of the public, to take note of the updated dates to avoid confusion.
The statement reads:”UPDATE ON 89RRI RECRUITMENT EXERCISE
“The Nigerian Army has rescheduled the 89 Regular Recruit Intake (89RRI) exercise, which will now hold from June 8th to 21st, 2025. This supersedes the previous dates of June 2nd to 16th, 2025. All shortlisted candidates and the general public are required to take note of the revised dates.”
While no reason was given for the rescheduling, such changes are not uncommon in large-scale national recruitment drives, especially those involving logistical coordination across various military formations and states.
