Minister Atta hails Tinubu’s leadership, says his bold reforms paving path to prosperity

As President Bola Tinubu marks his second year in office, the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Yusuf Atta, has praised the administration’s reform-driven governance, commending the President’s “visionary leadership” and “unshaken patriotism.”
In a statement issued Thursday by his media aide, Seyi Olorunsola, the minister congratulated President Tinubu on the anniversary and emphasized the administration’s policy directions, especially its “Renewed Hope Agenda,” which he said is restoring confidence in the country’s future.
Atta described the past two years under Tinubu’s leadership as a period defined by “bold decisions, historic interventions, and an unwavering focus on building a resilient, inclusive, and prosperous Nigeria.”
He said: “From the removal of the unsustainable fuel subsidy regime to the unification of the exchange rate and the pursuit of fiscal and monetary realignments, this administration has shown uncommon courage in confronting entrenched inefficiencies and structural bottlenecks. These reforms, though tough on the average citizen in the short term, are key to unlocking long-term growth, attracting foreign investment, and stabilizing our economic architecture.
“As we speak, macroeconomic indicators are beginning to reflect the fruits of these policy choices. Investor confidence is on the rise. Capital inflow is gradually returning. Our foreign exchange reserves are stabilizing. The naira is showing signs of resilience. The message is clear—Nigeria is getting back on track.”
While acknowledging the immediate strain of these economic reforms on Nigerians, Atta said the President has approached the challenges with empathy.
“Yet, Mr. President has never shied away from acknowledging the immediate burdens of these reforms on Nigerians. He has, with deep empathy, prioritized social intervention programmes and provided targeted support to help citizens navigate these difficult adjustments. This blend of tough reform and compassionate governance is the hallmark of a responsive leader—one who understands both the weight of the office he holds and the dignity of the people he serves,” he stated.
On national security, Atta noted improved morale among security forces and a restoration of territorial integrity in areas previously troubled by insurgency.
“In the realm of national security, we have also seen significant progress. Armed forces and security agencies have been better equipped, morale has been restored, and coordination has been enhanced. Former hotspots of violence and insurgency are experiencing relative calm. The nation is gradually regaining its territorial integrity, and Nigerians are once again beginning to feel safe in their communities,” he said.
Atta also praised Tinubu’s inclusive leadership style, pointing to appointments that reflect Nigeria’s diversity and promote unity.
“Mr. President’s leadership has also demonstrated a commitment to unity and inclusion. His appointments have reflected the diversity of our federation, and his engagement across religious, ethnic, and gender lines has reaffirmed the idea of a Nigeria that belongs to all. The spirit of national cohesion is rising again.”
He singled out the Renewed Hope Housing Initiative as one of the administration’s most impactful policies.
“One of the most promising policy directions under this administration is the Renewed Hope Housing Initiative. It is a testament to President Tinubu’s understanding that dignity begins at the doorstep. Shelter is not a luxury—it is a right, and the steps being taken to reduce Nigeria’s housing deficit speak volumes of the administration’s commitment to building not just homes, but hope,” the statement said.
According to the minister, the initiative is being widely embraced by citizens and is creating both jobs and opportunities.
“It is a transformational project—one that is creating jobs, empowering local industries, and providing affordable, decent shelter to families that have long been excluded from home ownership. It is a legacy in the making.
“While the results of President Tinubu’s reform agenda are yet to be fully felt across the grassroots—especially given the prevailing inflation and cost-of-living concerns—the trajectory is clear: Nigeria is moving forward. With continued patience, discipline, and collective resolve, it is only a matter of time before every Nigerian begins to experience the real dividends of these foundational reforms.”
Atta also paid tribute to the Nigerian people for their resilience.
“On this auspicious occasion, we also salute the resilience and sacrifice of the Nigerian people. You are the heartbeat of this nation, and your faith in democracy, even in trying times, is what continues to inspire leadership. Your patience is not taken for granted. The government of President Bola Tinubu is working daily to ensure that your sacrifices are rewarded with improved livelihoods, greater opportunities, and a country that works for all.”
Atta also praised the President’s unwavering focus and leadership.
“To Mr. President, your Excellency: you have remained consistent, courageous, and clear-eyed in the face of daunting national challenges. You have inspired belief, renewed optimism, and restored the integrity of leadership. As you mark this important milestone, may God continue to bless your vision, grant you strength, and fortify your commitment to a greater Nigeria,” he said.
