NAPPS South-South slams WAEC over night-time English exam

The South-South zone of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) has criticized the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) for scheduling the English Language Paper 2 of the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) at night.
Zonal President of NAPPS, Hon. Ekhosuehi Reuben Ikponmwen, expressed the association’s displeasure in a statement,a copy sighted by PlatinumPost reporter.
The statement reads:”Condemnation of WAEC’s Untimely Conduct of English Language Paper 2 Examination Today 28th Day of May, 2025.
“As the Zonal President of NAPPS South South Zone, I strongly condemn the decision by WAEC to conduct English Paper 2 examination at night. This unorthodox timing poses significant challenges to our students, particularly in terms of safety and optimal performance.
“We urge WAEC to reconsider this decision and prioritize the welfare and best interests of our students. We request that future examinations be conducted during the day to ensure fairness and comfort for all candidates.
“We stand in solidarity with our members and students affected by this decision and will take necessary actions to address this issue.”
WAEC has yet to issue a response to the concerns raised by the association as of press time.
