Gunmen abduct female FRSC officer in Jos

Gunmen have abducted a female staff member of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kate Jonathan Akpabio, in the early hours of Monday in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. at her residence in the Rantya community, where armed assailants stormed her home and forcefully whisked her away to an unknown location.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the development on Tuesday via a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle. According to his report, a distress call was made immediately after the abduction, prompting a swift response from security forces, including army personnel and other agencies.

However, the kidnappers had already escaped with the victim before security operatives arrived at the scene.

In response, a coordinated search-and-rescue mission has been launched by the military and police to locate and safely recover the abducted FRSC officer.
