 NGO seeks better education health wellbeing others for boy child

As the global community this Friday observed International Day for the Boy-Child, the Founder and Executive Director of a Non Governmental Organization, Restore Hope for the Boy Child Initiative, Dr. Babatunde Kayode, has called for policies that will ensure proper care and mental wellbeing of the boy child in the country.

Dr. Babatunde Kayode made the call during a Road Walk to mark this year’s International Day for the Boy Child, in Abuja…

He said the road walk was to create awareness on gender equality for the boy child just the way the society care so much for the girl child.

According to him , parents should endeavour to support the boy child towards harnessing their potentials for the betterment of the country.

“We are using this road walk to create awareness on gender equality for the boy child because we need to care for the boy child just the way we care for the girl child in terms of education, health and general wellbeing among others ” the Founder stated.

In his words : “As much as parents care for the girl child,I urge them to do same for the boy child because the boy child are also been abuse just like the girl child so they should not neglect or abandon them for the sake of humanity “.

While calling for more advocacy for the boy child in the area of health and education acquisition, Dr Babatunde Kayode said Restore Hope for the Boy Child Initiative would continue to embark sensitization programmes on gender equality in the country.

“What we intend to achieve is to create awareness so that the society should know that there’s need to care for the health and wellbeing of the boy child towards realizing their dreams in life” He explained

He equally stressed the need for Government at all levels to show more concern to the care of the boy child through their programmes and activities.

Dr. Babatunde Kayode who advised Nigerian children to always be good ambassadors of their families and country stressed the need for them to give priority to eduction and skills acquisition towards contributing to national development.

“Let me also advice the boy child to shun act detrimental to their goals in life and be committed to their studies to enable them succeed in life,” he added .
