6 Nigerians deported from United States

Six Nigerian nationals have been deported from the United States after being implicated in various criminal offences.

According to sources familiar with the situation, the deportations are part of a broader initiative by U.S. authorities to return over 3,000 Nigerians reportedly linked to criminal conduct in the country.

The individuals landed in Lagos on Wednesday morning aboard a Delta Airlines flight that touched down at Murtala Muhammed International Airport shortly before 9 a.m.

Upon arrival, they were handed over to representatives of several Nigerian government agencies, who are now tasked with determining subsequent actions regarding the returnees.

This development aligns with ongoing immigration policies under former U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration, which prioritized the removal of foreign nationals with criminal records as part of efforts to tighten immigration controls.
