 EACCI to offer funding investment equipment supply others to Gambia

To further enhance trade and economic development in  Gambia, European African Chamber of Commerce and Industries (EACCI) has promised to offer funding investment, equipment supply and technical assistance to  Gambia towards fast tracking national economic development in that country.

Director General,  European African Chamber of Commerce and Industries,  Dr. Kingsley Obasohan made the promise in Abuja when he received a Delegation from Gambia led by the Mayor of Brikama Area Council, Mr. Yankuba Darboe.

Obasohan, who described  Africa as richly blessed in human and natural resources said European  African Chamber of Commerce and Industries (EACCI) along with her Funding and Implementation Partner,  (Universal digital Currency reserve Foundation and Humanitarian Digital Currency reserve Foundation) has over the years been enhancing trade and investment between Europe and Africa for national economic growth.

While advising the Gambian delegation to effectively harness the opportunity provided by the Chamber, Amb.  Obasohan stressed the need for African countries to put in place policies that would fast track economic development in the continent.

In his words “European  African Chamber of Commerce and Industries is an assemblage of Chambers of Commerce covering 98 countries including 44 European countries and the 54 countries in Africa “.

“European -African Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s aims and objectives is to enhance trade between Europe and Africa because Europe is doing a lot in terms of trade volumes with Africa worth over  187 billion Euros at the moment while that of Africa is less than 40 billion Euros. therefore,you can see that the disparity is so wide and what we’re trying to do is to see  how we can improve trade through support for businesses ,Small and Medium Enterprises, SMEs because we major In about 12 to 13 areas which includes Oil and Gas, Healthcare, , Manufacturing, Renewable Energy, Culture and Tourism,  Education and Internships, Diaspora Engagement, Hospitality, Earth Minerals Assert, Human Capacity Development, Women Empowerment, Agriculture and Food Processing and by so doing we grow on our trade volume from Africa to Europe and in other for us to be able to achieve this is to look at the issues of standardization, finance, equipment, capacity building , Value Chain, among others” He stated

The Director General of European African Chamber of Commerce and Industries also stressed the need for more beneficial bilateral trade relations among African countries towards diversifying economic in the continent

Earlier, the Mayor of Brikama Area Council, West Coast Region The Gambia, Mr. Yankuba Darboe commended the European African Chamber of Commerce and Industries for its efforts over the years in improving the volume of trade between Europe and Africa.

He said the delegation was in the office of European  African Chamber of Commerce and Industries to seek ways for support and collaboration in the areas of entrepreneurship development, agriculture, culture, and economic development, Tourism,among others.

Mr  Yankuba Darboe who commended the bilateral relations between  Gambia and some other African countries including Nigeria over the years, solicited technical assistance from the Chamber towards realizing Gambia’s economic objectives.
