Commercial s€x worker found dead in drainage with missing private parts

The lifeless body of an unidentified woman was discovered on Tuesday morning in a drainage along OGTV Road in Abeokuta, Ogun State, with her private parts gruesomely removed.

According to a report by Punch, local sources said that residents stumbled upon the disturbing scene and quickly alerted authorities. The exact circumstances surrounding how the body was left there remain unclear.

“A lady was found lifeless on Tuesday in a gutter along OGTV Road, Abeokuta. She was suspected to have been used for a ritual; her private part was missing,” a witness said under the condition of anonymity. “The police came around and took her body to the State Hospital Morgue in Ijaiye.”

Efforts to get an official comment from the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, were unsuccessful as of press time, as she had not responded to inquiries.

A senior security operative familiar with the case revealed that the deceased was believed to be a commercial sex worker. According to him, the woman was last seen when a man picked her up from a known location in Oke-Ilewo the day before her body was found.

“The lady was a commercial sex worker. Her friends said she was picked up by one man at their spot in Iwe-Iroyin, Oke-Ilewo,” the officer disclosed. “She had machete wounds on her neck and her hands, and her private part was cut off.”

This case bears a disturbing resemblance to a previous incident reported in Ibadan in August 2023, when a young nurse, Omoniyi Boluwatife, was found dead without a womb after allegedly attending a night outing to celebrate her induction into the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
