Huge crowd as David Abioye launches own church with inaugural service

David Abioye, the former Vice President and now retired pastor of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has officially launched his new ministry, the Living Word Conquerors Global Assembly.

The inaugural Sunday service, held today, drew a large and enthusiastic congregation eager to be part of the new church’s beginning.

In a video clip from the service, Abioye explained the mission behind the ministry, emphasizing that it was birthed from divine instruction and committed to nurturing believers’ spiritual growth and victory worldwide.

He made it clear that the formation of the ministry was not driven by external expectations or personal motives but stemmed from what he described as God’s “eternal purpose.”

“May I make it very clear that the inauguration of this assembly is not in response to demands of people to start a church, but by the emergence of God’s eternal purpose, ordained from the foundation of the word, which is just coming to light at his own time,” he said.

Abioye further elaborated on his role, noting that he does not see himself as attempting to single-handedly fulfill the Great Commission but as someone appointed for a unique assignment within God’s broader plan.

The event culminated with Abioye’s official declaration of the ministry’s commencement and a heartfelt welcome to all attendees.

“On this final note, and to the glory of God, this assembly with the name ‘Living Word Conquerors Global Assembly,’ is hereby inaugurated this day, Sunday, 4th May, 2025.

“In the name of God, the Father, God, the Son, and God, the Holy Spirit, for the spiritual development, edification and triumph of the saints globally and let someone join me to say a loud Amen.

“May I, therefore, welcome you specially to Conquerors Global Assembly, and everyone who witnesses this today will not cease to conquer in all affairs of your life. You will be named more than conquerors,” Abioye declared.

Recall that both Abioye and Thomas Aremu, deputies of Bishop David Oyedepo, stepped down from their leadership roles at Living Faith Church in October 2024 following an administrative policy update that introduced a mandatory retirement age.
Abioye retired at 63, marking the end of a ministry career spanning over 40 years.
