Fubara returns to Rivers after 2-week overseas trip

Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has made his way back to Port Harcourt following a two-week trip abroad.
The governor arrived at the international wing of the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, around 7 p.m. on Friday.
A video capturing his return showed some aides welcoming him at the airport before he was escorted to a waiting SUV, which departed immediately.
In March, President Bola Tinubu suspended Governor Fubara, his deputy Prof. Ngozi Odu, and members of the State House of Assembly after declaring a state of emergency in the state.
The President cited attacks on oil pipelines by militant groups as part of the worsening conflict between the governor and 27 lawmakers. He also noted the involvement of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
