Ex EFCC chairman Bawa visits Buhari in London

Abdulrasheed Bawa, the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), made a notable visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari in London on Wednesday.

While the specific reason for the meeting remains undisclosed, the visit coincided with a significant milestone in Bawa’s life—his 45th birthday.
Bawa, who made history as the youngest individual to ever lead the anti-graft agency, was appointed to the position at the age of 41 in 2021.

His tenure marked a series of key changes in the fight against corruption in Nigeria. Notably, Bawa is also recognized as the first non-police officer to ever head the EFCC.

The meeting, though shrouded in mystery, has sparked interest, given the political and administrative significance of both men. While no official details have been released, sources speculate that the discussion may have centered around various aspects of Nigeria’s anti-corruption efforts or the broader political landscape.
