Natasha: 2Baba reunites with mother

Veteran Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has reconciled with his mother, Mrs. Rosemary Idibia, amid ongoing rumours about his alleged relationship and marriage to Edo lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru.

Mrs. Idibia had earlier made headlines after she publicly appealed for help regarding her son’s personal matters. In a video that went viral, she called on Nigerians to urge Natasha Osawaru to “release” 2Baba, whom she described as being in a difficult situation.

“This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru from Edo State. I’m asking all mothers to join me in pleading with her to set my son free,” Mrs. Idibia stated.

The matter escalated when the Idibia family, through their lawyer Wilson Anuge, filed a formal petition with the Department of State Services (DSS), reporting 2Baba as missing. The petition, dated February 7, 2025, claimed the singer disappeared after leaving his home on February 10, 2025, in casual attire for what was believed to be a routine walk, but never returned.

However, a recent social media video showed 2Baba and his mother together, smiling and posing for photos with friends and supporters. In another clip, Natasha Osawaru was seen with a young person, and 2Baba soon joined them, dressed in sportswear.

2Baba had previously confirmed his relationship with Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, representing the Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party. He made the revelation shortly after announcing his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia, with whom he shares two daughters.

In an Instagram video, 2Baba declared his love for Osawaru, saying, “Yes, I love her. She’s amazing, she’s cool. I want to marry her.” He also clarified that Osawaru was not involved in the breakdown of his marriage to Annie.

On February 13, 2025, a video surfaced of 2Baba proposing to Osawaru in front of friends. Osawaru later updated her Instagram bio to ‘Honourable Natasha IDIBIA,’ suggesting a possible formal union.

As of this report, neither 2Baba nor Natasha Osawaru has provided additional public statements regarding their relationship or the earlier family concerns.
