 FRSC redeploys 29 senior officers in major shakeup

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has carried out a significant reshuffling exercise with the redeployment of three newly appointed Deputy Corps Marshals, two Assistant Corps Marshals, and 24 Corps Commanders to critical departments and field offices across the country.

The move, approved by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, aims to strengthen the Corps’ ongoing initiatives to enhance road safety nationwide.

According to a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide of the Corps Public Education Office, Deputy Corps Marshal (DCM) Aliyu Datsama, who previously served as Assistant Corps Marshal in charge of the Special Duties and External Relations Department, will now head the Department of Motor Vehicle Administration.

DCM Pauline Olaye, who formerly led the Project Implementation Office at the National Headquarters, has been reassigned to take charge of Special Duties and External Relations. Meanwhile, DCM Ahmed Tahir Hassan, fdc, will continue to oversee the Technical Service Department at the National Headquarters in Abuja.

Additionally, Assistant Corps Marshal Godwin Omiko, Ph.D., formerly heading the Motor Vehicle Administration Department, has been posted to lead the Project Implementation Office. In another adjustment, ACM Emmanuel Dung, who served in the Corps Safety Engineering Office, will now assume duties as ACM Motor Vehicle Administration at the headquarters.

New Sector Commanders have also been appointed in Ekiti, Plateau, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Minna, Kogi, Bayelsa, Taraba, Jigawa, Osun, Imo, and Zamfara states.

In a historic move, the Corps Marshal approved the appointment of Corps Commander Ann Oladayo Odeleye, fsi, as Acting Zonal Commanding Officer of RS Zone 2 Lagos, making her the first female officer to hold the position. She will oversee operations in Lagos and Ogun States.

According to the statement, the Corps Marshal expressed strong belief in the competence of the newly posted officers, stating that they were chosen for their professional expertise and leadership potential.
