 7 DSS officers 2 others arrested over alleged killing of policeman

A serving police officer has been allegedly shot dead by officers from the Department of State Security Service (DSS) at the residence of a businessman in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to a report by counter-insurgency expert and security analyst, Zagozola Makama, the incident occurred at about 11:30 a.m on April 23 when police were called to investigate reports of a confrontation.

“The lifeless body of Police Constable Michael Isuwa, attached to 48 PMF Ahoada in Rivers State but serving at Henric  Garden, was found in a pool of blood in front of the residence.

“The police officer had reportedly been shot by DSS personnel under unclear circumstances. The situation was quickly brought under control by local authorities.

“Seven DSS officers and two civilians have been arrested in connection with the incident. The body of the deceased has been taken to the Ibusa General Hospital Mortuary for autopsy,” the report said, adding that investigation into the matter is ongoing.
