Panic as woman dies inside public toilet in Rivers

A heartbreaking scene unfolded at the Mile 3 motor park in Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, when a middle-aged woman tragically collapsed and died inside a public toilet.

Eyewitnesses reported that the woman had paid to use the facility but failed to exit after an unusually long time. Concerned officials managing the toilet became alarmed when repeated knocks on the door received no response.

Fearing the worst, they forced the door open and were met with a grim discovery the woman had passed away.

The Chairman of the Mile 3 Park toilet, Chigozie Amadi, confirmed the incident to Revelation Agents.

“Yes, the incident is true. We do not know the woman. We are still looking for a way to contact the deceased woman’s family. We have reported to the Nkpolu Police Division, and the police are here now,” he said.

As of 5:59 pm on Tuesday, police officers and officials from RIWAMA were making efforts to evacuate the corpse to the mortuary.

The Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, had yet to respond to enquiries on the incident.

The incident has left many in shock, and efforts are ongoing to identify the woman and notify her family.

The circumstances surrounding her death are still unknown, and investigations are expected to shed more light on the incident.
