Troops nab suspected kidnapper, recover arms in Kano

Troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF) have arrested a 55-year-old suspected notorious kidnapper during a security operation in Sumana Village, Tundun Wada Local Government Area of Kano State.
The arrest, which took place on April 20, was confirmed in a statement released on Tuesday by Capt. Babatunde Zubairu, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 3 Brigade Kano.
According to the statement, the suspect was apprehended during a coordinated security sweep and later paraded before Brigadier General Ahmed Tukur, Commander of the 3 Brigade, during his Easter visit to troops at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Falgore, Doguwa LGA.

General Tukur commended the troops for their courage and professionalism during the operation, which led to the recovery of a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and other incriminating items.
Items seized from the suspect include one fabricated AK-47 rifle, a dane gun, 9 rounds of 9mm pistol ammunition, and a woodland camouflage uniform.
Additionally, a desert camouflage vest, a woodland camouflage vest, and a Bajaj motorcycle seat which was suspected to have been used to conceal the weapons were also recovered.
General Tukur reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to working with local authorities to ensure the restoration of peace and security in affected communities.
