JUST IN: 2 children feared killed as explosion hits Kaduna

A tragic explosion rocked the Abakpa area of Kaduna State on Tuesday, killing two children and injuring three residents. The victims include a 13-year-old boy, Imam, and a six-year-old girl, Nasrin.

The explosion occurred just two kilometers away from the old site of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), sending shockwaves through the community.

Though the exact cause of the blast remains unknown, security agencies have arrived at the scene and launched a full investigation to determine what triggered the deadly incident.

“The explosion occurred very close to my house. So when I heard it, I ran out to see what has happened. I saw one of the affected victims, Imam, and tried to take him to the hospital but he died before we got to the hospital.”

Details are still sketchy as at the time of this report, but the incident has caused fears in the area as residents are still in shock.
