Gunmen kill 4 in late-night attack at Kwara motor park

A fresh wave of violence struck Kwara State as unknown gunmen launched a deadly assault on the Ilesha Baruba Motor Park, leaving at least four people dead and two others injured.

The chilling incident occurred late on Monday night, April 21, 2025, around 11:30 p.m., when approximately ten armed men stormed the bustling Baruba Park.

According to counter-terrorism expert Zagazola Makama, the attackers opened fire on unsuspecting residents who were relaxing at a local joint near the park.

Among the confirmed victims of the brutal attack are Alhaji Ja’awire, Abduljabar, and Mohammed Nasamu. The identities of other victims are yet to be disclosed by authorities. Eyewitness accounts suggest the gunmen fled the scene before security personnel could intervene.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Ilesha Baruba mortuary, while those injured are receiving treatment at a nearby medical facility.
