Nigerian Gospel singer, Big Bolaji, is dead

Renowned Nigerian gospel musician Bolaji Adedotun Olanrewaju, popularly known as Big Bolaji or “Big B,” has died.

His family confirmed his death in an official statement released on Saturday. According to the announcement, he passed away on Easter Saturday, April 19, 2025, following a brief illness. He was 50 years old.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bolaji Olarewaju, affectionately known as ‘Big B,’ a cherished father, husband, brother, and an esteemed figure in both the church community, an ordained Pastor in the RCCG and a giant in the music industry and our community. Bolaji left us on Easter Saturday, 19th April 2025, after a brief illness,” the family said.

The statement described his passing as a heartbreaking loss, noting that his absence has created a void that cannot be filled.
