Vigilante chairman killed in deadly ambush

The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the death of Julius Mangai, the 45-year-old head of the vigilante group in Butura Kampani Village, located in Bokkos Local Government Area.
According to intelligence sources who spoke to Zagazola Makama, the deadly attack took place around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening. Mangai was reportedly ambushed by unidentified assailants while returning from a mining site in his car.
“The sources said the assailants stabbed the victim in the neck, leaving him with grievous injuries.”
Following the attack, he was rushed to Dung Clinic in Bokkos for treatment, but medical personnel later confirmed his death.
Authorities have urged locals to stay alert and promptly report any unusual behavior that may aid in apprehending those responsible for the crime.
