JUST IN FBI files Presidency reacts to U S court s directive on Tinubu

The Nigerian Presidency has downplayed the significance of a recent U.S. court order compelling law enforcement agencies to release documents relating to President Bola Tinubu.

A U.S. District Court had directed the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to make available certain files involving the Nigerian leader. However, the Presidency insists the content of those documents is already well-known and contains no new revelations.

Responding to inquiries, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, said the reports being circulated are decades old and hold no incriminating evidence against President Tinubu.

“Journalists have sought the Presidency’s reaction to the ruling last Tuesday by a Washington DC judge ordering the US FBI and DEA to release reports connected with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Onanuga said.

“There is nothing new to be revealed. The report by Agent Moss of the FBI and the DEA report have been in the public space for more than 30 years. The reports did not indict the Nigerian leader. The lawyers are examining the ruling,” he added.
