How Jesus disrupted my career plans – DJ Cuppy

Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, says her deepening faith has led to an unexpected but fulfilling shift in her professional life.
In a reflective post on X, the 31-year-old disc jockey opened up about how embracing spirituality altered the direction of her career.
“Was thinking this evening, Jesus really disrupted my DJ career plans o but in the BEST way,” she wrote. “Booked and busy means nothing if you’re not walking in purpose.”
Cuppy, who was baptised at Holy Trinity Brompton in London in August 2024, previously described the experience as the “best decision” she has ever made.
Her journey in entertainment began in 2014 as a resident DJ at the MTV Africa Music Awards. Over the past decade, she has made her mark in the music industry with hits like Gelato, Green Light, Vybe, Currency, and Jollof On The Jet. She recently ventured into acting as well.
Outside of music, Cuppy — daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola — has pursued academic excellence, earning a master’s degree in African Studies from Oxford University in 2023. She was also named a King’s Trust International Ambassador by King Charles III in March 2024.
