Toke Makinwa: I’d still say yes to marriage even as fifth wife

Media personality Toke Makinwa has sparked fresh reactions online after candidly sharing that she is open to marrying again — even if it means becoming a second, third, fourth, or fifth wife.

Speaking during a recent episode of her podcast, Toke Moments, which she posted on Instagram oe media entrepreneur said with a hint of humour, “At this point in my life, if I have the opportunity to marry again, as a second, third, fourth, or even fifth wife, I’ll take it.”

Her remarks follow past revelations about her marriage to Maje Ayida, which ended in 2017 amid allegations of infidelity. She has previously opened up about how the experience left her emotionally vulnerable, often breaking down while recounting that chapter of her life on earlier episodes of the podcast.

Now embracing life at 40, Makinwa is defying societal expectations around age, marriage, and motherhood.

“I am 40, I am single, and I am childless. I said it, and I didn’t die,” she declared. “I used to feel ashamed… But honestly, if I had gotten married again, I would have been divorced again. The lessons don’t stop.”
