2 killed as gunmen attack Fulani settlement

A deadly assault on a Fulani settlement in Girku village, Rigachikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has left two men dead following an incursion by gunmen suspected to be bandits.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident took place on the night of April 9, 2025, when armed attackers stormed the residence of Alhaji Likita and opened fire on residents.

The victims, 28-year-old Ya’u Likita and 30-year-old Abubakar Nagoggo, were both struck by gunfire and sustained critical injuries.

They were transported to Kujama Primary Health Care Centre for emergency treatment but were pronounced dead by medical staff.

The attackers also reportedly made away with an undisclosed number of cattle before fleeing the area.
