APC closes national secretariat as kidnappers kill abducted official

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the temporary closure of its national secretariat in Abuja, commonly known as Buhari House, following the tragic death of its Director of Administration, AbdulRauf Adeniji.
This was disclosed in an internal memo titled ‘Secretariat closure for the mourning of the director of administration,’ which was issued on Thursday.
Sources confirmed that Adeniji, who had been abducted several weeks ago, was murdered last month.
According to the ruling party, the closure will be effective starting Monday, April 14, 2025.
Staff members were instructed to use the period of closure for reflection and prayers for the deceased’s family and loved ones.
The memo stated: “The National Secretary has approved the closure of the National secretariat from all party/work activities with immediate effect till Monday 14th April 2025. This decision was made after he had received the news of the sad demise of the Director of Administration, the Late Hon. AbdulRauf Adekunle Adeniji.”
