Ondo PDP spokesman resigns

Kennedy Peretei, the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, has officially resigned from the party, marking the end of a long-standing relationship with the opposition party.
Peretei, who previously served as the party’s Financial Secretary from 1999 to 2003 before being elected as Publicity Secretary in 2020, announced his departure in a letter addressed to the Arogbo Ward One Chairman of the PDP.
In the letter, Peretei expressed deep disappointment with the current leadership of the party, stating that those at the helm have shown no genuine intention of winning elections—either now or in the foreseeable future.
His resignation has stirred reactions within the state’s political circles, with many seeing it as a reflection of the internal crisis and waning morale within the PDP in Ondo State.
He said it has become difficult to work with people whose interests revolve around themselves and how they could use the party to trade every election year.
The former PDP spokesman said: “The same people who have held the party hostage, making it impossible to win elections in the last three election cycles have tightened their grip on a party that laid prostrate at the Intensive Care Unit. The PDP in Ondo State is now on its way to the morgue.
“For those who depend on election funds and party patronage to run their families, I admonish them to seek second addresses, so that, they can live more meaningful lives than that of political bandits, Almajaris or just “Yes” men.”
