Super Eagles climb in FIFA rankings but drop out of Africa’s top 5

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have moved up one spot in the latest FIFA rankings, rising from 44th to 43rd globally, despite failing to secure maximum points in their recent World Cup qualifiers.
The three-time African champions earned a 2-0 win against Rwanda’s Amavubi but were held to a 1-1 draw by Zimbabwe’s Warriors. While this marginal improvement in ranking is a positive development, it was not enough to keep Nigeria among Africa’s top five teams.
The current top five teams in Africa are Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, and Ivory Coast, pushing Nigeria out of the elite group.
On the global stage, Argentina continues to lead the rankings, followed by Spain, France, England, and Brazil, who all retained their positions.
