Portable, Speed Darlington set for celebrity boxing showdown in April
Controversial Nigerian musicians Speed Darlington and Portable are set to settle their ongoing feud in a highly anticipated celebrity boxing match scheduled for April 18, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos.
The rivalry between the two artists began in March when Speed Darlington offered Portable ₦500,000 to perform at his upcoming show.
Portable, however, dismissed the offer as an insult, stating that his performance fee is ₦20 million. His response triggered a heated exchange, with Darlington expressing regret over the invitation and accusing Portable of disrespecting his mother.

Portable then challenged Darlington to a fight, boasting that he would defeat him just as he did to popular actor Charles Okocha in a celebrity boxing match in December 2023.
The match has been arranged following popular demand, with the organiser, Mygamerush, announcing the fight on Instagram, saying, “You asked and now it is here. Two street kings’ battle for ultimate street supremacy”.
