Eid el Fitr NFSS CG felicitates Tinubu Muslims urges presidential assent to bill

The Commander General of the Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS), Ambassador Joshua Osatimehin, has extended his felicitations to President Bola Tinubu, the Muslim community, and members of the NFSS on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

In his Sallah message issued in Abuja, Osatimehin called on Muslims to use the festive period to pray for Nigeria’s unity, peace, and development.

He also emphasized the need for renewed dedication to the service of God and humanity.

According to him, this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration calls for sober reflection, given the prevailing socio-economic challenges in the country.

The NFSS Commander General highlighted the agency’s ongoing efforts to support national security, revealing that its personnel across all 36 states and 774 local government areas have been mobilized to complement the work of formal security agencies in maintaining law and order during and after the celebrations.

Osatimehin lauded the Senate for passing the NFSS Bill for the third time, describing it as a testament to lawmakers’ commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security framework.

He appealed to President Tinubu to sign the bill into law, stating that its enactment would significantly bolster the nation’s security apparatus.

He further noted that NFSS personnel have received extensive training in intelligence gathering and security operations from both national and international security agencies, positioning them to effectively contribute to the protection of lives and property.

Reaffirming the NFSS’s dedication to the success of Tinubu’s administration, Osatimehin urged all stakeholders to play their part in advancing the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the area of security.
