Tinubu promises Nigerians more hard work reveals his prayer list

President Bola Tinubu says he will continue to work hard and pray for the peace and stability of the nation.

Speaking to journalists on Friday after a special Juma’ah prayer session at the National Mosque in Abuja, held in honor of his birthday and the nation, Tinubu expressed gratitude for witnessing another year. The President will mark his 73rd birthday on March 29, 2025.

A statement released by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, highlighted Tinubu’s unwavering concern for the security and welfare of Nigerian citizens, stating that these remain at the top of his prayer list.

“I feel good. I feel happy. I thank the Almighty Allah, who has protected us and continues to answer our prayers. We also thank Allah for accepting our worship; that is key and very important to us. We have prayed for our country. We prayed for the stability and peace of the nation. We prayed that Almighty Allah will safeguard our people and all citizens,” Tinubu said.

Emphasizing his dedication to both effort and faith, the President underscored the importance of perseverance.

“The word for all of us is hard work. You work harder, and you pray harder. That’s the inspiration I got from today’s sermon. We thank God almighty that at this stage, we are still in it and working,” he added.

Leading the special prayers were Dr. Abdulkadir Salman Solagberu (the Malami Ubandoma of Ilorin Emirate) and other Islamic scholars, who prayed for Tinubu’s continued strength and wisdom in leading the country.

Dr. Solagberu assured the President of ongoing prayers for his well-being and the nation’s prosperity, stressing that peace and stability remain crucial for national development.

Additionally, the Imam of the National Mosque, Prof. Muhammad Kabir Adam, expressed appreciation to Tinubu and First Lady Sen. Oluremi Tinubu for their support of the less privileged during Ramadan. He encouraged continued prayers for the President and the country beyond the fasting period.

“Mr. President, Allah is with you, and you will succeed,” Prof. Adam stated.

The prayer session was attended by Vice President Sen. Kashim Shettima, Deputy Senate President Sen. Barau Jibrin, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, ministers, service chiefs, and members of the President’s family.
