Akpabio Justice Egwuatu recuses himself from Senator Natasha s case

Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has recused himself from the case filed by suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District.

During proceedings on Tuesday, Justice Egwuatu withdrew from the case after counsels announced their appearances, citing allegations of bias raised by the third defendant, Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Akpabio had earlier expressed a lack of confidence in the court’s ability to ensure justice in the matter, prompting Justice Egwuatu to step down.

The judge confirmed that the case file will be returned to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, for reassignment to another judge.
