1 killed in Kaduna deadly mosque attack

Security operatives in Kaduna State have apprehended 12 individuals in connection with an attack on a mosque in the Tudun Wada area of Kaduna South Local Government Area, which resulted in the fatal stabbing of a worshipper.
In a statement issued on Friday, the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, Mansir Hassan, confirmed the arrests.
According to Hassan, the assailants—who came from Malalin Gabas, Tudun Wada, Rafin Guza, and Unguwar Baduko—targeted Muslim worshippers engaged in Tahajjud prayers at Layin Bilya, Makwa Road in Rigasa around 2 a.m. on Friday.
“Before the arrival of police operatives and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, the hoodlums had already stabbed a 28-year-old man, Usman Mohammed, to death,” he said.
Following swift action, authorities detained 12 suspects who allegedly confessed to their involvement in the attack. Several weapons were also recovered.
The police have launched a full-scale investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure justice is served.
In response to the attack, security has been reinforced in key locations, especially around mosques where similar prayers are conducted. The police also urged residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to help curb crime.
Additionally, the command issued a stern warning to criminal elements, stating that those caught engaging in unlawful acts will face the full force of the law.
