Gunmen murder Miyetti Allah chairman in Plateau

Gunmen have killed Muhammad Adamu, the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday night at his residence in Barkin Ladi town, shortly after he broke his fast.
Confirming the incident, Plateau MACBAN Chairman, Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo, condemned the attack and urged security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation to apprehend those responsible.
A youth leader in the community, Alhaji Danjuma Ibrahim, who also confirmed the incident, said the body of the deceased had been deposited at the Barkin Ladi General Hospital and expected to be buried on Thursday.

Danjuma, while condemning the incident, recalled that this was the third time the chairman had been targeted by gunmen, but they were unsuccessful until the latest attack.
He said: “The gunmen attacked him and shot him severely in the body.
“There are bullet wounds on the body. After they shot him, they fled the area. Security personnel, including police and soldiers, have responded because we were together with them at the hospital when he was rushed to the hospital.”
The youth leader, however, described the attack on the MACBAN chairman as unfortunate and sad,explaining that prior to his death, “he played a vital role in ensuring peace within the Barkin Ladi area. His demise will continue to linger in our memory because of his significance to sustaining peace in the community. “
Plateau Police spokesperson DSP Alabo Alfred, has not responded to calls on the incident.
