Foreign Minister speaks on ambassadorial nominees list

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has addressed concerns about the delay in appointing ambassadors, explaining that such delays are a natural part of governance and politics.
Speaking at the 5th edition of the Ministerial Press Briefing in Abuja on Thursday, Tuggar assured that the names of ambassadorial nominees would soon be submitted to the Senate for approval.
“The delayed appointment of ambassadors is what it is. It is the nature of governance and politics. I want to assure you that in the near future, the names of the appointed ambassadors will be sent to the Senate. We have mission officers running the embassies for now,” he said.
He further noted that, in the meantime, diplomatic missions are being managed by mission officers to ensure smooth operations.
