NYSC member’s murder case: New twist as Timileyin Ajayi changes plea to not guilty

At a hearing on Monday at the High Court in Lafia, 32-year-old Timileyin Ajayi denied allegations of murdering and dismembering Salome Adaidu, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member in Nasarawa State, by pleading not guilty.
Ajayi had initially pleaded guilty before Justice Simon Aboki of the Nasarawa State High Court. However, after consulting with his lawyer, he reversed his plea to not guilty.
The case, which has drawn widespread public attention, was officially taken over by the Nasarawa State Government on March 10, 2025. As the trial commenced, the prosecution presented four witnesses to testify before the court.
The development sets the stage for a high-profile legal battle, with justice advocates closely monitoring proceedings to ensure accountability in the tragic murder case.
