Drunk police officer allegedly shoots kills man in Minna

A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Monday in the Angwan-Kaje area of Maitumbi, Minna, Niger State, where an unidentified Nigerian officer, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, shot and killed an unarmed man named Sani.

The victim, who posed no threat, was fatally shot by the officer at approximately 3 a.m.

Eyewitnesses have expressed shock at the senseless act, as Sani was reportedly unarmed and did not provoke the officer.

Witnesses reported that Sani was in the area when the officer, said to be intoxicated, began shooting recklessly. A tea seller known as Mai Shayi was also targeted but managed to escape.
