Bandits gun down 12 vigilante operatives in deadly ambush

Armed bandits launched a deadly attack on Sabuwar Tunga in Adabka ward, Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, resulting in the deaths of 12 vigilante operatives and the abduction of four residents.

Security analyst Zagozola Makama reported that local vigilantes initially repelled the attackers on Tuesday. However, while pursuing the fleeing bandits into the forest, the operatives were caught in a deadly ambush.

A local security source confirmed the incident, explaining that the vigilantes were overpowered during the ambush, leading to significant casualties.

“The community initially repelled them, but unfortunately, the bandits regrouped and ambushed our men, leading to the tragic loss of 12 members,” the source said.

The bandits escaped into the forest following the assault, leaving the community in mourning as security forces work to track them down.
