Court jails Tiktokers over ‘vulgar’ content in Kano

A Kano magistrates’ court has sentenced two TikTokers, Ahmad Isa and Maryam Musa, to one year in prison or a ₦100,000 fine each for posting vulgar videos deemed offensive to religious and moral values in the state.
The duo, residents of the Ladainai area in Hotoro Quarters, were arrested by the Kano State Censorship Board and later arraigned before the court.
During the hearing, the state’s counsel, Barr. Garzali Maigari Bichi, charged them with criminal conspiracy and posting illicit content on social media. Both defendants pleaded guilty to the charges.
Delivering the verdict, Justice Hadiza Muhammad Hassan sentenced them while also warning them to be of good behavior moving forward.
