NEXHUB to host export conference, urges youths to explore global trade

The Nigerian Exporters Hub (NEXHUB) Limited has finalized plans to organize an export-focused conference aimed at equipping Nigerian youths with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in global trade.
The two-day event, tagged NEX-GEN 2025, will take place virtually on April 25 and 26, running from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. daily. Themed “Unlocking Export Potential,” the conference will feature expert-led training, networking opportunities, and practical guidance on navigating the export industry.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, NEXHUB’s Managing Director, Deacon Babatunde Faleke, emphasized the critical role of youths in driving economic diversification.
“Nigerian youths are endowed with so many talents that need to be shown to the world, and we felt that there’s a knowledge gap in terms of export, especially non-oil export,” he said. “We’re looking at talking to Nigerian youths between the ages of 18 to 45 years for two days virtually on how to export, what to export, and where to export. They will also have the opportunity to meet industry leaders for guidance and mentorship.”
Faleke highlighted the vast opportunities available in the global market and urged Nigerian youths to take advantage of them.
“The Minister of Youth, Mr. Ayodele Olawande, has endorsed the two-day conference and given us the go-ahead to engage youths on export of goods and services to enhance Nigeria’s economic development,” he noted. “We enjoin all Nigerian youths to register and participate through nextgen.nigerianexportershub.com.”
He stressed that access to the right information, training, and mentorship would enable young Nigerians to become global players in the non-oil export sector.
“They need to know what to do, how to go about it, when the farming season is, the export season, and what value addition is required to maximize profits,” he explained.
Faleke also pointed out that export opportunities extend beyond physical goods, with roles available in logistics, value addition, consulting, market research, and event management.
“There are lots of opportunities in the sector, but without the requisite knowledge, how will they benefit?” he asked.
Encouraging youths to participate in the conference, he emphasized that gaining expertise in export services could help them become self-reliant and even employers of labor.
