Troops capture suspected bandit along Zamfara road

A suspected bandit linked to criminal activities across Zamfara and neighbouring states has been arrested by Nigerian military personnel.

The arrest was made by troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, in collaboration with ASKRARAWA vigilante operatives, during a patrol in Rijiya Tsakar Dawa, Gusau Local Government Area.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the suspect was apprehended along the Bawa Ganga–Kwaren Ganuwa road on Tuesday, February 27, 2025.

Authorities believe the suspect is part of a gang responsible for ongoing attacks in the region, which has been a hotspot for banditry, including kidnapping for ransom and deadly assaults.
