Former Netherlands international and Feyenoord legend, Robin van Persie, has reportedly been appointed as the new head coach of Feyenoord, signing a contract that runs until June 2027.

The Dutchman, who enjoyed a glittering playing career with clubs like Feyenoord, Arsenal, and Manchester United, is set to embark on a new chapter in his football journey by taking charge of the Eredivisie giants.

According to renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who confirmed the news via his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, Van Persie will be joined by Rene Hake as part of his coaching staff.

Hake previously worked as an assistant to Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, bringing valuable experience to the new-look Feyenoord technical team.

Van Persie, who began his professional career at Feyenoord before rising to stardom in the Premier League, has been gradually building his coaching credentials. He previously worked with the club’s youth setup and served as an assistant coach, making his appointment as head coach a natural progression.

“Robin van Persie signs in today as new Feyenoord head coach until June 2027. Former Erik ten Hag’s assistant Rene Hake will join his staff too,” Romano wrote.
