A Kano State High Court has sentenced three individuals to death by hanging for their involvement in the murder of Hamisu Hassan, a resident of Yar Zabaina village in Gabasawa Local Government Area of the state.

The convicts, identified as Abdulrahman Ado, popularly known as Soja, Dahiru Mamman (Duguja), and Hamisu Ibrahim (Hoga), were found guilty of conspiracy and murder. The tragic incident occurred in 2019, and the suspects were subsequently arrested and arraigned in 2021.

The case, which had been ongoing for nearly four years, finally reached its conclusion on Tuesday, when the court delivered its final verdict.

During the trial, the prosecution counsel, Mubarak Abubakar, presented three key witnesses, including the son of the deceased, to solidly establish the charges against the accused.

The judge, in his ruling, emphasized the gravity of the offense, stating that the prosecution had proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt, leaving the court with no choice but to uphold the law.
